Join us on an immersive “Green Erasmus” course exploring the landscapes, initiatives, and rich character of West Cork. In this unique programme, the rugged landscapes, coastal trails, and marine ecosystems become your laboratory for learning about sustainability and maritime heritage. Through hands-on activities and a dynamic programme, students explore the community, biodiversity, and heritage while broadening their English vocabulary and confidently integrating their language skills. This journey combines the beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way with environmental awareness and cultural discovery, offering an unforgettable experience for those who believe that protecting our planet is the most important language we can speak.

Irish Culture and Environmental Sustainability
The Irish Culture and Environmental Sustainability programme explores local initiatives in the field of environment and sustainability to create a picture of our unique local culture and rural ecology here in West Cork. Our location on the Wild Atlantic Way is ideal for exploring environmental issues. We are extremely lucky to have a wealth of interesting locations and passionate people, who take this conversation further by integrating it into their businesses and personal lifestyle.
Programme Aim
- Develop English language skills that directly relate to nature, the environment and keywords related to sustainability
- Learn about Irish culture and mythology
- Communicate with passionate people and professionals in the field
- Improve fluency and speaking skills
- Practice listening, comprehension, and understanding skills
- Reflect on your learning and how you can apply to your daily and professional life at the end of your programme
Rationale for the programme
The rationale for the programme is that course members are encouraged to work on certain tasks, backed up by inputs and workshop support, in order to fulfil the aim, objectives and purposes of their participation on the course.
