Access to and use of this website

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”, “Terms of Service”) carefully before using the https://www.atlantic-english.com website (the “Service”) operated by Atlantic School of English and Active Leisure (“us”, “we”, or “our”).

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned upon your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users and others who wish to access or use the Service.

By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms then you do not have permission to access the Service.

Covid-19 related cancellation policy

Covid-19 policy

In light of the global pandemic, Atlantic S.E.A.L. has adopted a ‘course-deferral’ policy, as advised by Ireland's Association of English language school Industry Leaders. This policy allows students to transfer their course to a later date and supersedes our usual cancellation policy. No cancellation penalties or additional fees will apply when a course must be cancelled due to Covid19 related restrictions on the side of student/school. A 100% credit note valid for 18 months will be issued for all fees paid. This policy will remain in place until Covid19 related restrictions are lifted by international governments &/or we are instructed otherwise by the Irish Government. The 18 months timespan is for ease of administration and is in no way a limit to the time within which the credit note-voucher can be used. The voucher is for the same programme as outlined in your invoice and non transferrable to other programmes or components of other programmes on offer.

In light of the current pandemic, Atlantic S.E.A.L have adopted a Covid-19 related postponement policy allowing students to delay or defer their courses to a later date. Cancelled bookings are usually subject to the loss of the 25%-100% of pre-paid fees. In this case of pandemic or government intervention that excludes you from travelling, Atlantic S.E.A.L will allow you to transfer the fees you have already paid, to a course at a later date. Special offers availed of such as Early Bird discounts will be honoured & carried over to a future booking. Your fees will not incur any yearly increase or price change that may occur. In all cases, fees transferred are only applied to the course as outlined in your original booking. Some courses are subject to seasonal restrictions so please check with us at the time of transferring your course dates. Fees that are being transferred to a later date will be in the form of a credit note to be redeemed within 18 months of the cancelled course date. Please note that the 18 month limit is to allow easier management of course rescheduling by students and/or transference to another participant agreed by the student in their place. Further flexibility may also be possible.

Extra Covid 19 Compassion extended to our clients:

In appreciation of and to continue the good relations Atlantic SEAL has developed with our 'family' of clients over the last 21 years, we are also offering some additional incentives & services free of charge (virtual leisure activities, free Lessons,fun competitions) which will be described in direct emails with clients. These are a goodwill gesture on behalf of Atlantic SEAL, free of charge and are not in lieu of any fees paid. All fees go towards a future course

Cancellations not relating to Covid-19

For cancellations made not relating to Covid-19 (for which the above policy must apply) our usual cancellation policy applies. For cancellations made up to 3 weeks before arrival, the 25% booking deposit is lost. Cancellations made between between 14-21 days before commencement of course 60% of full amount will be refunded; for cancellations received 13 - 7 days before commencement of course 30% of full amount will be refunded. No refund for any cancellation less than 7 days before arrival or after the course has commenced. This includes days missed during the course, late arrival or early departure. In all circumstances the small registration/administration fee is not refunded. Any refunds for summer courses are made at the end of the fiscal/accounting year - but no later than September 30th. Please note that courses booked with the advantage of very reduced costs and early booking discounts may not be eligible for refunds. Clients may however chose to take out a low cost cancellation policy through a reputable firm (underwritten by AXA), which we can arrange on your behalf. Atlantic SEAL reserves the right to reschedule course dates if circumstances out of our control deem it essential or mandatory.

I understand that all fees and charges will not be refunded after my course starts. I am aware, however, that Atlantic S.E.A.L may allow me to continue my course at a later date at a negotiated & discounted price should unavoidable circumstances cause premature departure.


* Insurance is the responsibility of the course participants. All participants are offered cancellation insurance as well as medical insurance on enrollment. This is through a recognised insurance broker. While Atlantic SEAL can offer assistance to obtain insurance - all claims must be dealt directly between the client and the insurance company. Students should arrange medical insurance before departure. EU students should bring EHIC cards which should be acquired before arrival in Ireland. www.ehic.ie Travel insurance is also recommended.

Students needing a student visa also must have the required level of medical insurance as is the condition of visa issuing and Atlantic SEAL uses the services of the reputable company ‘Guard Me’ and can organize this on their behalf if required.

Arrivals & Departures

Please note that arrival is normally Sunday and departure is Saturday. Extra days may be added on at an additional fee to fit in with flight possibilites. Simply ask us for more information.

Refunds and cancelation of Long Term Programmes (25 Weeks Plus)

A Cancelation fee will apply. This is 150Euro.

For cancellations received between 14-21 days before commencement of course 60% of full amount will be refunded; for cancellations received 13 - 7 days before commencement of course 30% of full amount will be refunded. No refund for any cancellation less than 7 days before arrival or after the course has commenced. Refunds will be made by the School Owner Barbara Connelly within 4 weeks of cancelation.

In the event of a visa being refused, the school fees will be refunded no later than 20 days after we have been informed and proof shown of refusal. The cancelation charge of 150Euro will apply.

Learner Protection

Should a programme end before the length of time of study the student has paid for and is entitled to, arrangements are in place for the protection of students through membership of Marketing English in Ireland (http://www.mei.ie) and thus the student will be entitled to continue his/her programme at another member school . This includes all weeks due to the student, same hours and end of programme exams.

Agent Accounts

When you create an account with us, you guarantee that you are above the age of 18, and that the information you provide us is accurate, complete, and current at all times. Inaccurate, incomplete, or obsolete information may result in the immediate termination of your account on the Service.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password, including but not limited to the restriction of access to your computer and/or account. You agree to accept responsibility for any and all activities or actions that occur under your account and/or password, whether your password is with our Service or a third-party service. You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.

You may not use as a username the name of another person or entity or that is not lawfully available for use, a name or trademark that is subject to any rights of another person or entity other than you, without appropriate authorization. You may not use as a username any name that is offensive, vulgar or obscene.

We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, remove or edit content in our sole discretion.

Copyright Policy

We respect the intellectual property rights of others. It is our policy to respond to any claim that Content posted on the Service infringes on the copyright or other intellectual property rights (“Infringement”) of any person or entity.

If you are a copyright owner, or authorised on behalf of one, and you believe that the copyrighted work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please submit your claim via email to info@atlantic-english.com, with the subject line: “Copyright Infringement” and include in your claim a detailed description of the alleged Infringement as detailed below, under “DMCA Notice and Procedure for Copyright Infringement Claims”

You may be held accountable for damages (including costs and attorneys’ fees) for misrepresentation or bad-faith claims on the infringement of any Content found on and/or through the Service on your copyright.

Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding Content provided by users), features and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Atlantic School of English and Active Leisure. The Service is protected by copyright, and other laws of Ireland.

Our Service may contain links to third party web sites or services that are not owned or controlled by Atlantic School of English and Active Leisure

Atlantic School of English and Active Leisure has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party web sites or services. We do not warrant the offerings of any of these entities/individuals or their websites.

You acknowledge and agree that Atlantic School of English and Active Leisure shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any such content, goods or services available on or through any such third party web sites or services.

We strongly advise you to read the terms and conditions and privacy policies of any third party web sites or services that you visit.


You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Atlantic School of English and Active Leisure and their employees, contractors, agents, officers and directors, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to solicitor’s fees), resulting from or arising out of a) your use and access of the Service, by you or any person using your account and password; b) a breach of these Terms, or c) Content posted on the Service.

Limitation Of Liability

In no event shall Atlantic School of English and Active Leisure, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service; (iii) any content obtained from the Service; and (iv) unauthorised access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence) or any other legal theory, whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damage, and even if a remedy set forth herein is found to have failed of its essential purpose.


Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or course of performance.

Atlantic School of English and Active Leisure its subsidiaries, affiliates, and its licensors do not warrant that a) the Service will function uninterrupted, secure or available at any particular time or location; b) any errors or defects will be corrected; c) the Service is free of viruses or other harmful components; or d) the results of using the Service will meet your requirements.


Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, so the limitations above may not apply to you.

Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by Irish law and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us regarding our Service, and supersede and replace any prior agreements we might have had between us regarding the Service.


We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time.

By continuing to access or use our Service after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, you are no longer authorised to use the Service.
