English for Life — Cambridge ESOL Exams — Choose our ‘Classic’ or ‘Gold’ Exam Preparation Programme at Atlantic S.E.A.L.
Every year worldwide, 1.5 million people take Cambridge exams in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). At Atlantic S.E.A.L we offer 12 week Cambridge Exam preparation courses [shorter or longer duration also possible].
You can choose the 'Cambridge Classic' or the 'Cambridge Gold' programme depending on which suits your goals, time & budget best.
The 'Classic' offers 20 micro-group lessons per week and plenty of opportunities for self study outside the lesson time with full use of the school's resources and your teacher will give you a 'self study plan'.
Or, you could choose the 'Gold' option which offers 20 micro-group lessons PLUS 5 hours per week of 'one to one' lessons with your own private tutor to really focus on the skills that you want special 'one to one' help with. You will cover all the skills in the group lessons and your teachers will guide you with the best advice on exam technique so you can be confident of gaining a good grade in this internationally reputable & prestigious exam.
12 weeks is the ideal length of time to study for these exams but if you have a shorter time, perhaps 'Gold' will be the best option for you, or if you have already gained a good level in your English skills, maybe you could do the 'Classic' programme but for a shorter time. Just ask us and we will advise you about what we think will suit you best.

The 'Cambridge Classic' Programme fees include the following:

FCE - First Certificate in English
The Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE) is an upper intermediate level exam which recognises the ability to deal confidently with a range of written and spoken communications.
Who is FCE for?
FCE is designed for learners whose command of English is adequate for many practical everyday purposes, including business and study. Successful candidates will have a wide grasp of vocabulary, and should be able to construct an argument and use appropriate communication styles for a variety of situations. They also need to show an awareness of register and of the conventions of politeness and degrees of formality as they are expressed through language. FCE is taken by more than 270,000 people each year in more than 100 countries.

FCE is recognised by many universities and other educational institutions as proof of intermediate level English skills, and these institutions accept it as meeting part of their entrance requirements. Because the examinations are based on realistic tasks, an FCE certificate is an important asset for anyone who wants to work or study abroad, or in international business. It indicates sufficient proficiency in English to be of practical use in clerical, secretarial and managerial jobs in many industries, in particular tourism, where contact with English speakers is required. CAE - Certificate in Advanced English
The Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) is an advanced exam. CAE recognises the ability to communicate with confidence in English and deal with most aspects of everyday life.

CAE is for learners who are reaching a standard of English that is adequate for most purposes, including business and study. Success at this level indicates the ability to use English effectively and perform confidently in social and professional situations, and in higher education.

CAE is seen by institutions of higher education in many countries as proof of adequate language skills for courses taught and assessed in English. Almost all universities in the United Kingdom and a growing number in the USA recognise CAE, as do many employers throughout the world. Successful candidates are able to participate in meetings and discussions, expressing opinions clearly and are able to understand and produce texts of various types, including business letters and reports. CPE - Certificate of Prociency in English
The Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) is the highest level of the Cambridge exams in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). It is a very advanced level exam.
Who is CPE for?
CPE is for learners who have achieved a high level of language skills and are able to function effectively in almost any Englishspeaking context. Successful candidates at this level are approaching a standard of English similar to that of an educated native speaker. The exam also requires an appropriate level of educational and personal maturity. Every year over 45,000 people take the CPE exam in more than 80 countries, and success at this level represents a significant personal achievement.
