Course Description

Learn English in the mornings & continue to practise your spoken English & golf with your tutor in the afternoons while enjoying our membership of the prestigious Bantry Bay Golf Club or Skibbereen Golf Club.

You can choose the programme that suits you: There are 3 ways for you to combine your English course with a highly memorable golfing experience.

Choice 1: ‘English & Golf ‘Gold’

One Week Programme of 20 lessons of one to one business or general English (mornings) + 4-6 hours of Golf Practice per golfing afternoon with your English Conversation Tutor (afternoons).

Choice 2: ‘English & Golf ‘Silver’

One Week Programme of 10 lessons of one to one business or general English (mornings) + 4-6 hours of Golf Practice per golfing afternoon with your English Conversation Tutor (afternoons).

Choice 3: ‘English & Golf ‘Bronze’

One Week Programme of 20 lessons of Micro-Group (average 4, max 6) General English lessons (mornings) + 4-6 hours of Golf Practice per golfing afternoon with your English Conversation Tutor (afternoons).

A minimum of 3 students are required in order for this course to take place.

Additional Costs

We can arrange host family accommodation or Self Catering (cook for yourself) in your own apartment near the sea and town centre. Self catering in a local host's home or B&B or hotel including a full Irish Breakfast.

There is a small accommodation arrangement fee and all students pay a student registration fee.

If you would like airport transfers we arrange a private car for you from Cork Airport or Cork City. For other airports please contact us for a quote.

You may wish to join our on going leisure programme to enjoy some of the local activities available such as kayaking, sailing, horse-riding and excursions to beautiful places of interest, and we can help you to plan this and you pay for it when you are here.

Bantry Bay Golf Course 18 Hole Championship Course, open all year, towers above the head of Bantry Bay, in the Far West of County Cork. Fourteen holes immediately overlook the shore where the warm Gulf Stream first touches land on this side of the Atlantic, Fuchsias abound, and there are splendid panoramic views across the sea and islands to the Beara Mountains, Sheep’s Head and the Mizen Peninsula.

Course architects Eddie Hackett and Christy O’Connor Jnr., of Ryder Cup fame, in keeping with USGA standards, have adapted some 170 acres of picturesquely undulating scenery - even the six lakes and other hazards would charm a landscape artist. They have created a course on which the scratch golfer must thoughtfully exert himself to achieve Par 71, while the Handicap golfer, too, has fair chance of glory. Great variety, from a Par 3 of a mere 126 meters to a Par 5 of 487 meters to a two-tier green, demands skilful versatility. Founded in 1975, Bantry Bay is a cosmopolitan club, with more than a hundred members from abroad as well as regular Irish & UK visitors.

Skibbereen Golf Course is an open 18-hole parkland course located 3km from Skibbereen town, set against the backdrop of Lough Hyne, Ireland’s first marine nature reserve, the beautiful sailing and fishing village of Baltimore and its surrounding islands. The first 9 holes contain 5 mature par four holes, two par fives and two par threes. The back 9 contain 6 rugged par fours, 2 par threes and 1 par five. There is a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding countryside from all back 9 holes.

Designed by Eddie Hackett and Jack Kenneally this course was originally a 9 hole facility founded in 1935, the club celebrated its official 18-hole opening with the President of Ireland Dr. Patrick Hilary in 1993.
